Publications Division (PD), Patiala House, New Delhi: It functions under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and is responsible for the preparation, production, distribution and sale of various kinds of books, pamphlets, pictorial albums and journals, which provide the general public in India and abroad with information about the country and its culture, the activities and achievements of Central Government.

Yojana, Kurukshetra, Bal Bharati, Aaj Kal, the Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar, Mass Media and India Reference Annuals are some of the 21 journals published by the PD. It gives Bharatendu Harishchandra awards to encourage original writings in Hindi in various disciplines of mass communication. Awards are also given for children's literature, books on national integration and women's issues. This publicity is undertaken in English, Hindi and in regional languages.
